The article discusses the reasons of opportunistic behavior of universities in educational relationships, related with manipulations with information about quality and other conditions of realization of the educational process. The author also examines various measures against educational universities opportunism.

Unfair competitive behavior of universities in the higher education market

The article proposes to use for universities the term «unfair competitive behavior» to refer a number of strategies that form the local relative competitive advantage by reducing costs for ensure the quality of education, by restrictions on competition in local educational markets, and otherwise directing the universities to ignore the social and educational functions.
