The article describes the results of the research on the phenomenon of the effective competition in the Russian insurance market. The theory of the effective competition of Y. Shumpeter formed a methodological basis of the work. U. Sheferd's technical calculation and other foreign and domestic researchers have been used. The analysis of the standard criteria of the effective competition in relation to insurance branch has revealed their incorrectness. The received results allowed to develop approaches to definition of branch criteria for the insurance market. Read more...
